The Hat Store | Robina Town Centre
Hats have a unique old world charm and can bring a sense of style and elegance to those who wear them. The challenge was how to best display the hats in order that customers could really ‘see’ them as the Client’s existing store was overstocked with merchandise which made it impossible to fully appreciate them all. The first thing we suggested was to change the name from ‘Hats By The Hundred’ which seemed to emphasize the overwhelming nature of the choice that they provided, to ‘The Hat Store’. Hat stores are quite rare, and so it was important to become ‘The’ premiere hat store. In order that the individual hats could be appreciated, we created a number of display devices, including white 2 pak shopfront rings where individual hats could be centred. Additionally plywood wall panels highlighted hats. A hat stand also became great way to display hats. The use of white 2 pak and plywood gave the store a natural sense of ‘sunshine’ and lightness. Other innovations included ‘umbrella chandeliers’ to best display open umbrellas and a floating lasercut plywood signage disk.
