Ambarella Fine Foods, our latest design project was opened just before Christmas and has been doing a roaring trade. The concept behind was to create a French provincial market square with shops scattered around its periphery. Shoppers can purchase ‘farm-to-table’ fresh produce together with an array of gourmet and fine foods, and sit down and relax with a coffee and a sweet treat from the boulangerie. It holds many stores a local market would hold including fruit and veg, baker, seafood, butcher, groceries, frozen yoghurt, juice bar, takeaway, deli, coffee shop, kitchenware. Not only can you purchase fresh pasta made to order, grind your own coffee, press your own juice, make your own pizza, pick and buy your own herbs, but also attend cooking classes and product demonstrations, such as the ‘make your own’ cheese kit shown on the day we attended. With its black and grey striped shop awnings, reproduction chandeliers, potted herbs and flowers accenting the displays, Mediterranean-influenced groceries for sale, a French patisserie and boulangerie, and even a kitchenware shop, Ambarella Fine Foods have captured the French provincial market experience without being too over the top themed.. Shoppers can have a ‘food experience’ where not only can they purchase fresh pasta made to order, grind their own coffee, press their own juice, make their own pizza, pick and buy their own herbs, but also attend cooking classes and product demonstrations, such as the ‘make your own’ cheese kit.
